Will MAP sensor install change MAF...

Will a MAP sensor install in my UTEC change the Load Indicator Special Constant to MAP on its own? I have 3 maps that are based on MAF and I'm not ready to adjust everything to MAP as a load reference, I just want to be able to log MAP as an accurate boost pressure reading.

I want my load ref to stay MAF and I was wondering if I'll have to go into Special Constants to change it back to MAF ("1") after the install.

TIA

Installing MAP sensor won't change your setting automatically... it simply gives your UTEC one more input variables that can be logged.

If you leave it on MAF, it will operate the same.. The Map sensor is mostly for logging data and using for closed loop boost control... It can be used instead of MAF for fuel and timing maps if you find the MAF reads unpredictably and need a stable input.. But If you leave the load reference to MAF, the map sensor won't affect anything.

What are the pros and cons of MAF vs. MAP for fuel/timing?

MAF is a better measure of the airflow including density.. Map is more stable, but won't necessarily work as well when conditions change..
