Depends on the unit.. HOWEVER,

www.splitsec.com
www.maftpro.com (Sells a translator you supply the GM meter)
www.ecuplus.com (recently added GM MAF support to their product for DSM's, evo to come shortly)

The most basic setup that works most similar to what I have is the splitsec product, you can buy a Granatelli ford blowthrough meter unit, and the splitsec PSC (programmable) or their dial adjustable unit.. They have one that also works with the GM MAF.

Unfortunately Ultimate Racing resold a product from www.pro-flow.com which is apparently now defunct.

Anything that can produce output compatible with the stock ECU will work fine. In other words, all of these are capable, however I only have personal experience with the Proflow products.

I am looking at the M A F Translator Pro from www.maftpro.com (http://www.fullthrottlespeed.com/ite...?ic=050MAFTPRO) . From the text that I am reading this unit uses a MAP sensor like the gm 3 bar map sensor that we use on UTEC to log boost and converts it into a MAF signal? Am I reading this correctly?

from the product description:

The Engine Control Module (ECM) or Engine Control Unit (ECU) in a vehicle is a small computer unit responsible for calculating how much fuel is injected into the engine. The fuel is injected to match the air flowing into the engine. The Translator Pro, like all "piggyback" controllers allows the user to adjust the airflow measurement, thus changing how much fuel the ECM/ECU injects into the engine. This is how the user "tunes" the engine. The Translator Pro is unique in that it allows the user to remove air measurement devices (MAS, MAF, VAF, etc) from the engine and use a speed density calculated signal to replace it. In high performance engine applications this has many advantages and added flexibility.

I am more interested in that maf pro unit. It converts Speed Density signals to MAF. You can eliminate the MAF all togther !!! I am going to call the company first thing tomorrow morning.
