Just Installed Injen Intake and Forge RS BOV NEED HELP

Ok. So my roomate and I just installed my Injen Intake and Upper Intercooler pipe kit as well as a Forge RS BOV. Besides a boost gauge, this is my first mod. Prior to install, I was boosting 20.5psi or so settling to around 17 (stock). After the intake and BOV install, I'm only boosting 15psi or so.

The car feels strong and almost as if I'm boosting sooner. The other thing I noticed is that the BOV is rather loud. This is the Recirc BOV. I like the sound but I was under the impression that it wouldn't give off a loud woosh. It makes me think that something wasn't installed right.

I realize I'm burning very rich and a tune is in my near future to take full advantage of my mods. The Valve also has an adjustable + and - on the top for fine tuning. I am using the stock spring with the BOV but don't know where it should be set at stock boost levels.

Perhaps I didn't set this properly or now I have a boost leak. Or maybe it's working just fine but I don't think I should be reading a lower boost. Being the novice I am, any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!

check for any leaks first.
and how many turns did you do? When I used as recirc setup, I turned about 3 1/2 turns from the maximum setting and it was fine holding more than 22 psi. you should hear little rat like sound for low boost and loud woosh for high boost through your intake.

So are you saying I turn it all the way (+) until it won't turn and then turn it three and a half turns back? Sorry if I sound clueless but...

Ok. SO I just went and turned it all the way + and then three and a half clicks back. I'm getting the rattling now at low boost and a woosh at high boost instead of the woosh I was getting all the time before. However, I'm holding boost at a constant 15psi with no spike. Hmmmmm

The BOV is mainly for sound as you won't get increased performance from it .. unless your stock valve, which usually works quite efficiently, has a leak. I suspect your lower boost is something to do with your intake. I honestly believe an intake mod for the evo is not needed, but when done should be tunes by an expert for best performance.

Unfortunatelt, I too was fooled into thinking that an intake should be the first mod .... took me months of tinkering before I decided to go back stock and stock all over. Now I'll keep the stock intake. My car kicks with the stock and no aditional stress.

Did you have any problems instaling the Forge along with the Injen?

Do a search on injen intake. You will see there is some issues with it.Also, with any intake a tune is needed.

Make sure you re-installed the boost solenoid vacuum line correctly to your Injen intake. The solenoid will regulate the boost.I was missing the line when I got my car and only boosted to 15lbs. and when the line was re-installed by me the boost went 19lbs.

I have no issues with mine at all. Before the install I saw 20 psi and after the intstall I still show 20 psi. Plus the car spools much, much sooner.

i have the injen kit installed also and i noticed that boost drop but iv that since u have installed possibly a bigger IC pipe this is the reason the boost has dropped? im not sure if that is correct but i have ONLY HEARD that somewhere but i cannot remember where at, but as others have said a tune should fix it, i know i need one lol
