Issue with PO234 Code

As the thread states, I keep throwing this code. PO234 Turbo/Supercharger Overboost Condition. I'm running a Hallman Pro MBC running 20-21 psi, and everytime I floor it and get up around 7K RPM, the CEL comes on and it's always this code. I had my UTEC tuned by Martin at AMS. I thought I was hitting boost cut, but my car doesn't stutter or hesitate, almost as if the boost cut is disabled, but the CEL will still trigger. Is there any way to turn off this CEL for good? Could I change out the stock boost control solenoid for the Perrin or something similar? I've searched around and haven't found any solutions other than turn down the boost. Thanks in advance!

I use the Greddy E-01 w/ the Utec and i have the SAME problem but only when its colder outside, i just threw the code again yesterday and i am getting REALLY pissed about it. Jack (malibujack) said there is really nothing we can do about it. im pretty sure its a MAF issue (cold air spikes). im thinking when Turbo XS comes out with the Blowthrough MAF it will cure some of these little problems. for now just keep deleting it, it will not effect performance. mine comes on even when i turn the boost down to 18

i'm confused, you say "stock boost control selenoid", you mean that piece that (stock) connects to the wastegate?

edit: this thing?

Yeah, exactly. I don't know what the issue is, but that trouble code keeps getting triggered. I think I heard that an AFC can get rid of the boost cut, but why can't the UTEC? This should have been an included feature since it can do basically everything.

erm, when i installed mine per the directions, you cap that off, but leave it plugged in, however, if you're using utec for boost, i can see where you can't do that, but if you're just using a manual controller, then, theres no need for that. just run the line in a loop, and leave it plugged in, and go straight to the wastegate from the bottom of the mbc.

Its not boost cut.. the code is thrown because the UTEC is controlling all the aspects of the boost control, timing, and fueling.. The overboost code is just a indicator that the MAF sensor detected airflow higher or ramped faster than the ECU expects to see in that situation. It has no impact on the performance of your car. However if you don't want it to go on, you have to reproduce the boost curve as it was stock, I doubt you guys want to do that..

The code will have nothing to do with boost cut.. Its nothing, and the ECU can be reset.. Unfortunately the UTEC can do alot of things, but it can't tell the ECU to ignore something that might trigger a CEL.. Its basically because the car is running better (more airflow, boost, or however you want to interpret it) than the stock ECU expects..

Hey man, I'm not having any issues with the install, it's that fact that boost cut is getting triggered. Actually, the code for boost cut is getting triggered. I have it installed exactly how it is in the picture.

what i'm saying, is in the hallman stuff, it tells you to unplug the lines, and remove it from the system, but leave it plugged in.

unless, this isn't the problem at all etc. because the way they do it, makes it completely manual, no ecu control on it, if i read into it right.

Thanks for the response Jack! I was afraid of this, but as long as it's not affecting anything it's not going to kill me, just annoy me. I'm not a fan of having to clear the same code over and over, but I guess I'll have to live with it. Oh well, thanks for the help guys!
