Current power mods:

Ram-Air Intake, Down-Pipe, Test Pipe, Cat-Back Exhaust, Apexi AVC-R, 255 Fuel Pump, LW Crank Pulley, Buddy Club I/E 272 Cams, Cam Gears, Custom Road Tune DynoFlash.

Other mods:

Turbo-Timer, S. Techs, Short Shifter, APS BOV.

Supporting mods to get close to 500 whp:

800 cc injectors or higher
fuel rail
AEM EMS
GT35R Turbo Kit (includes E. Manifold)
Eagle Connecting Rods
Forged Piston Kit
Piston Ring Kit
Kevlar Timing Belt
Head Stud Kit
Metal Head Gasket
Bigger Intercooler
Racing Radiator
Conrod Bolts
Crower Springs & Retainers
Forged Valves
Intake Manifold
Up-Grade Clutch
Up-Grade all lines to braided SS lines (brake lines, etc.)
Alcohol Injection Kit

** The reason for the internal is get more strength. You should be close to 500 whp with this mods. It might seem like a lot of money to do all this. The ones in red are the high dollar items. All the rest are at reasonable prices. Also, if you learn to work on your car, that’s just more money to save. You don’t have to pay someone to install anything.

and thats just in the motor! you'll need a clutch/tranny/transfer case all capable of holding all that power and i'd also give ALOT more attention to stopping that beast.

but i'm in the same boat as you, doing my mods a few at a time. someday i'd like to be in the 400-450 whp range. but i've only had my car for a year, so slowly over time is the way for me. g/l!

With the setup you listed, 500whp would be conservative hp numbers for an Evo
equipped with a GT35.

With all that power you'll want to upgrade the drivetrain as well.

Clutch, differentials, transmission. If you have the $$$ ... The sky is the limit.

If you want over 600whp, go for the GT42.

As for me I'm just content with my basic modifications for now.
I'm trying to stay out of trouble as is it. Evos are basically able to blow 95%
of the cars of the road.

Like warrtalon said, most people are happy with 350 to 400whp.
That would be about what I would shoot for.

But ... hey... Like I said go for it and ... also keep us posted.

I agree 100% about that. That's future work. Thanks for all the input. It's helping me slowly achieve my goals. Great stuff.

I have close to 400 whp, a dyno/road tune from Al, and an AFC, and for track use (with race gas), I use the AFC for fine tuning, but its all zeros for other driving (which isn't to much).

+1, I have to do that to. I've only had my Evo since last Dec, so I've done a lot in less then a year. More to come, I'll keep you guys posted after my tune. I think I'm going to get it dyno'd the next day, just don't know yet. I'm thinking I'll be around 330 whp after my tune. Only 170 to go after that.

You mean after your cams and tune, right? The other 170whp will be much, much harder than the first 100, so it's not even worth mentioning.
