General questions about beginning to tune

Hey guys, I've had some time off of work and have done alot of reading about tuning cars. I want to tune my SAFC-II myself pretty soon and have a few basic questions.

1. How much power will I gain by a customized tune ? (right now, i have AMS stage 1 which comes with a standard tune)

2. Do I need a wideband O2 sensor

3. If so, will the money to buy and have the Wideband installed be better spent on other parts to get more horsepower?

4. Does the SAFC-II allow for 2 sets of settings, letting me keep the ones AMS did in case I screw something up.

The car is not my daily driver but is driven weekly.

Thanks

1. to question one..i cant give you exact numbers but i have the ams stage one and it was a good base to start off on but you should retune it your self.

2.if your going to tune your self then yes get widewband O2.. expensive but cheaper then engine rebuild.

3.if you have any electrical epitude then installing the wideband is easy. the hardest part is getting the dam wire throu the fire wall to plug in to the gauge. you will need a wide band eventually if you want to do any kind of tuning later in the future so you might as well get one right now.

4.yes it has two different file maps
