turbo upgrade

I apologize if this is a repost, but i couldn't find one that described.....

why does a turbo upgrade deliver more power @ same boost psi? I read something that said that the other day, is that a wrong statement, or am I missing something?

Because it can move more CFM (AIR) at the same pressure since it is bigger. The bigger the hole the more air can be pushed through it at the same level of pressure. If the hole was really small it wouldn't push as much air becuase of the size restriction. Other varibles depend though such as the motor and its VE along with the efficiency of the turbo. But just as a rough explination above, I am sure you get the point.

Ok... so you're just moving move volume of air at the same PSI, I get it. I just never thought of it like that since i thought there was a finite amount of volume of pressurized air that an engine could use.

I also get the energy efficiency thing too, it was just something that I didn't totally udnerstand why since I was thinking of in terms of finite volumes that the engine could use.
