I wanted to know if I could log knock using a Zeitronix ZT-2.

It has a user input (0-5v), could I just connect the knock signal from the ECU
and log knock.

I had mine hooked up that way for a while, and occasionally I would pick up a little noise. I never went too crazy with my tune, so I never saw any knock, but I don't think the sample rate is high enough to pick it up anyways. Wish I could offer more help, but that's all I've got.

It has a rate of 74 samples a sec., that should be fast enough.
Anyways, are you saying it worked??

 

Yes, it did pick up some noise. As far as sampling rate, I typically saw around 64 samples/sec, which will pick up a lot of the knock, but I don't believe it is fast enough to pick up everything.
