Quick question about Flash

Hi,
For all the flash experts I just have one quick question. Once you get flashed for a said list of parts. Does that mean your map is stuck on optimal performance for those parts. What I mean is, what if you decide to start changing to different brand intakes, exhausts, manifolds, cams, etc. Cause each company designs their parts differently. So does that mean you gotta get a flash everytime?

I ask this because I have a UTEC right now and I want to begin tuning. But now Im wondering if it would just be easier just to flash it and let it be. However, like I said like everybody else on here once you start modding you dont know when your gonna switch to new parts. So I dont want to keep on paying for reflashes down the road.

Thanks all for help in advance.

It depends on the parts themselves. If you have an intake and switch to another intake, then that's no big deal. If you have no intake and then install an aftermarket intake, yes you need a retune.

It's too bad you already spent money on a UTEC, because we now have EcuFlash, which is a self-flashing technology that allows us multiple map switching capability as well as the ability to retune ourselves. Or, if you aren't sure how to tune yourself, you can pay someone like Dynoflash to custom tune you for multiple maps, give them to you, and then you can switch them back and forth whenever you want. For upgrades, you can get an E-flash (through email) for $49 to update for your mods, or you can retune yourself using the free software.

Check out the EcuFlash sub-forum in this very forum.
