ecu+ ?

as of now i have a 50trim installed on my car and its great. i eventuly want to upgrade in the future to a gt35. i was wondering what kind of hp numbers are being seen on a 50trim? and would it be able to handle the power a gt35 would make? like 600hp?
i am also considering a utec and the aem ems if i can find one used for a good price. so what are your thoughts? i am very impress with the ecu+ and like what i see.

Well! I'm not sure what's your current tuning device but I was using SAFC before ECU+ and the different is the midrange. You'll make more power right after the spool like between 5000 rpm to 7000 rpm due to the ability to fine tune the timing of ECU+ which SAFC is lacking. The peak power should be close. I'm actually on a gt35r and not making 600hp, yet, only 530 for now (on C16). So yes, ECU+ can handle your 50trim.

How much boost were you running when you made 530? Is your motor stock and are you using a GM MAF?

21.5 psi on 91 and 28 on c16,. Stock motor with cams and headstuds. Stock maf. There's no base map and shouldn't one since each car is different with different mods.

I think the issue is just like any other with big turbos, the stock MAF.. many people are making great power with the stock MAF, but it may no longer meter correctly after a certain point.. I have however seen one or two MAF's that had their honeycombs "Sucked In" by very high air velocity from big turbos.. But thats what a blowthrough MAF upgrade is for..

I actually have a GT35r kit sitting here in my garage and 1000cc injectors, I have no intention of every running a standalone simply because my state requires a catalytic converter and OBD-II to be functional.. So I have both..

The ECU+ is fantastic for logging, even if its the only thing you use it for, but I think the combination of a good reflash (either do it yourself or with a tuner) and the ECU+ is second to none. 6 months ago I might have thought differently because of the nature of working with the stock ECU without having that reflash control.

You have the ability to log data you normally could not, plus WBO2, EGT, etc.. if you set it up to do that.. This adds alot of additional data and gives you the same tools for the stock ECU that you would get running a standalone (the reflash ECU+ combo) And therefore the potential for tuning and power should be the same if you can work around glitches with the MAF.

That's exactly what I believed and I have ECUFlash now as a combination with ECU+. I haven't get any code after some tweaks to the ECU using the flash and with ECU+ for fine tune (I got some codes previously when cruising with ECU+ alone). :-)
