Need to design a failsafe for alcohol
Has anyone designed a failsaife with the SMC alky kit and the Utec. If so please share your design and part number if possible. Don't want to scare anyone, but I have burnt out 3 pumps and 2 controllers in less than a year of use. I have been lucky each time that it failed I discovered it at start up and not under boost. Thanks for the help
I wired a relay in parallel with the power and fault light of mine.. If it loses power or the light comes on, the Solenoid just doesnt operate and I get wastegate pressure.. But I have not yet installed my new alky kit, so I can't say for sure it'll work perfectly..
Technically the way the map switch work on the UTEC, you could wire it in such a way that if it fails (fault light, or no voltage to the pump) it closes a relay, which in turn closes the right BCD pattern to the map switch which will set it to a particular map.. then program your failsafe parameters into that map..

I don't run a MBC. Just the UTEC and the Perrin BCS.
