O2 sensor feedback

Hey guys, quick question.

My last car was a '04 spec-v, which I turbo'd and tuned myself. I found that removing the primary O2 sensor feedback placed the ECU in full time open loop, which allowed me to tune without fear of the ECU adjusting fuel trims and throwing the tune off over time. I was using an SAFC2 with boost as the throttle reference. I then tuned a simulated "closed loop" @ 16:1afr for low load and cruising conditions. As soon as boost was created or I went WOT, then it went straight to 11:1afr without the lean/rich spikes I normally saw on my logworks graphs caused by the ECU shifting from open/closed and vice versa. The only downside to doing this was the constant CEL, but when you turbo a N/A car, that will happen anyway, lol.

My question is will this method carry over to my evo?

Why? Do you understand the difference between open and closed loop?
