Anybody experienced with Exede and ECUFlash?

I've decided I need to be able to tune my car myself. I don't like being at the mercy of a tuner who is not readily available.

I've been around racing all my life. I understand what is involved in tuning an engine. I've just never had to use a computer to do it.

Which leads me to my problem. I'm not great with computers.

I'm guessing the Exede has the more user friendly interface and larger support forum.

I like the idea of just reflashing the stock ECU but, I'm a little intimidated by the interface.

As long as there is something like a table that says something along the lines of "ignition timing", "wastegate duty cycle" and "AFR" I feel pretty confident I can do it.

Has anyone worked with both? What are your thoughts on them?

Thanks.

I have not seen the xede interface, but the ecuflash interface is very user friendly.... What don't you like? the xede is a bandaid and ecu flash is the real deal.... do you understand the concept behind both??

ecu flash rewrites the stock ecu to allow changes in timing, fuel etc....

the xede piggy backs the stock ecu and modifies the signals doing in and out to preform the same function.....

There are so many reasions why ecu flash is alot better, but maybe u should do some reading yourself?

I downloaded the ECUflash software but, without the cable and being hooked to the car there really isn't much to look at unless I'm missing something. I haven't played with it much since I just downloaded it last night.

I understand the strategy behind both and do like that the flash actually changes parameters in the ECU as opposed to tricking it. That is part of the reason I went with the flash in the past.

I think you sell the exede short on some of it's features though. The no lift shift, being able to hold two maps, finer resolution and, the adaptive SMART system are all nice features that the factory ECU can't do. Plus there is a library of tunes readily available for it and if I have an issue I'm a paying customer who will get good tech support.

Have you worked with both?

They both have their pluses and minuses. I'm just trying to find what will work best for me.
