Differences between black and silver ECU+ versions?

Can someone give me a quick and dirty run-down of the differences between the older and newer style ECU+ versions? I'm looking at picking up a cheap black box (older) version just to use as a data-logger and a MAF translator for my GM MAF. Just curious if picking up a newer version for 400$ more is worth it.

The silver box units add knock logging, OBD-II, MAS translation and a whole host of hardware features, only some of which are currently used. New development is for the silver boxes right now, though some changes may be back-ported to the black box units at a later date. The silver box units are where the action is at right now.

Thanks for the info Tom. It would seem like the black box is pretty much obsolete with those advances. If the black box logged knock (which is a big deal) then I would have been inclined to pick one up, but seems like a no-brainer to go with a newer unit even when used for minimal tasks.
