Hey guys I am fairly new to EVOM.NET, but I have been in the DSM game for a while. I currently own an STi ( Which I am selling ) I had the AccessPort on the car for about 1 month and returned the car back to stock. Does anyone think it would be a better idea to purchase a small cheap laptop (~$500, tactrix cable and other flashing tools found on here) and get the car dynoed for various configurations and utilize the laptop to switch maps from (race gas, track days etc...) instead of buying an expensive piece of plastic. Don't get me wrong the AP is awesome, but for $700 I can get a nice 10"-12" computer and switch maps as I need. Does anyone have some input?

i am going to get an accessport but i completely see your point on the laptop. well actually i might just go ahead and get a taktrix cable and use that and see how that goes and if i dont like it i could get an accessport...

 

The access port for the evo won't be out until the Spring, per the cobb website. So, I went for the tactrix cable but I may end up getting the AP later on.

Edit: I also have a laptop that my company supplies, otherwise I would definately have gone for the AP.
