Here's the thing, its an 06 and it probably doesnt have 2 unrelated problems. It probably has 1 that is causing the other. P0300 could be a ton of things and he already eliminated a few of the most likely causes (plugs and wires). A vacuum leak is still a strong possiblity. Do a leak test it may solve both of your problems if you have one.

EGR's valves can fail 2 ways. Stuck open or stuck closed.

An EGR valve that has failed, refuses to open (or the EGR passageway i the manifold is clogged) will allow elevated NOX emissions and may also cause a detonation (spark knock) problem.

im done with this one... hope you get your car fixed dude!

nox is the last gas you consider for any for of diag. with a concern like this. why is that even brought into this (its the 5th gas in 5 gas) use to be four but they made em put it in there.

and then you go ahead and edit your last post to match up with the two fellows below who made very good and contributing points

Are you still getting the P0300 code since you've fixed the leak?

Freeze Frame is an area of memory that your ECU stores pertinant data when the ECU detected an error.. what RPM , o2 sensor voltages, etc. It's helpful for diagnosing problems.

I'll probably get in trouble for getting off topic but I'm trying to figure out why you have an attitude with me. I just tried to help the guy out by posting the OBDII codes for the guy, along with troubleshooting steps, and advising that getting his evo tuned would probably not fix his issue.

In my next post I suggested that he look for vaccuum leaks because I know that is a leading cause of P0300 as well. I had a P0300 problem for months.. believe me I've done my share of troubleshooting this issue (plugs, wires, leak test, compression test, etc). In spite of all your attacks of me the only suggestion you offered was to check the gap on his plugs. Good suggestion except he already did that. His vaccuum leak is probably the cause of his P0300 as well has his stuck closed EGR valve (no vacuum to operate it).

im not really tryin to get an attitude with you at all. i kindda felt that was brought on when ya asked me if i read your post. im not one of those guys that roams forums just to disagree with everyone. i started to get alittle pissy with your link cause its gay but bottom line the concern was not stated with enough detail (not his fault) and then you and i decided to speculate like crazy and thats what you get. ireally dont care all that much and i was going with the automatic idea is he could of had possible bad plugs to begin with and then took some plugs outa the box at .050 and threw em in. sorry to sound mean. all periods

Always remember K.I.S.S. when diagnosing. Even if it's over the internet.

A tiny little drop of crazy glue helps as well depending on how much boost you run.
