Overcame fuel cut & started logging
WALKER, do you use 91 oct??? If so I think that might be your problem. well not really the gas, I just think that Jestr may not be the best 91oct. tuner.
Me and my friend both got Eflashed form jestr. Mine was terrible, (so was my friends). Even after sending back logs and receiving new maps, knock was still somewhat there and the car ran terrible times at the track. Anyways, I no longer run the Jestr Eflash.
I'm not trying to bash, but I think Jestr doesnt have enough 91oct experiance. I have seen MANY GREAT results from him, but most were on cars that run 93oct. Seeing how he does most of his tuning in Florida, that doesnt seem so far fetched.

The problem is the TIMING and not the boost. It is too advanced. It is a Jestr tradition (as well as others) to set the timing well before TDC. In this case your timing @ 3500-3700 is around 8*. Your log reads 7* since your knocking 3-4 counts which pulls the timing 1* Proper timing @ this rpm range/load should not be more than 2-3* on an Evo 8.
When you have such an advanced timing, the air/fuel mixture is not properly compressed by the piston before the spark is ignited. So when the spark is ignited you do not get a complete burn and pockets of air/fuel are left in the combustion chamber to self ignite causing knock.
I have seen a Jestr 93 octane ignition map and it has a lot of advanced timing, especially at peak torque/boost. You must retard the timing to fix the problem.

Thanks,
Someone from this forum was kind enough to approach me to help get the tune straight. He just notified me the other day after looking thru the information, that the timing is indeed the problem, ...
Too bad Jestr couldn't have figured this out, or cared to...
Thats cool though, I'm much happier dealing personally with someone who cares about their work, and can communicate well with their customer.
I think maybe Jestr is now too big for the little guys
