Retune from summer to winter?

I am looking to get my car tuned very soon hear but I have heard I will need to get it re-tuned in the winter. I live in arizona so the temperatures are very hot now compared to what they will be in the winter time. Anyone have any opinions on this? Would I make less power with a tune in the summer?

you won't need a retune necessarily. you would just have to turn your boost up during the warmer months and down during the cooler months to accomodate for air density and such. don't need it overboosting on you once the air chills.

in the summer months the air is less dense due to heat, but cranking the boost up to compensate isn't always a good idea especially if you aren't paying attention to knock.

I suggest getting tuned now, then monitor the situation to see if it needs some tweaking in the colder months.

a little more info on this. I just looked at a car that was tuned in the winter and sure enough it had some mild knock that was causing the car to surge as the power went up and down with timing being pulled. A few tweaks later and it's silky smooth and considerably stronger.
