+1.

Shell allows me to run 25psi without meth, and Mobil essentially ruined my $500 dyno tune back when I first got my car... the thing would knock with anything over 23psi or any timing above STOCK !!!

I personally use Shell. BP is the close second. I've never used Sunoco or 76 because there are none around my area. I run 26 psi on pump gas and I don't trust too many stations with my business because of that. I've logged with a few different fuels and Shell seems to keep knock away best.

The best by far (for knock resistance) was Shell 93 w/ 10% ethanol ... no knock but the fuel mix was way off from where it should have been.

I am a pipefitter and ive done some work in the marothon station, BP station here in Louisville KY and the gas that goes to thorntons marathon and mack's come from the same batches. ( same octane from same tanks)

the guys at the main hubs for fuel say the mix is the same for most stations around town and in the city. so im gonna say that 93 octane in KY is 93 octane. no differance from company.

noe super america gas is **** it comes from soewere else(super A is a louisville thing maybe) im not sure if you guys get super america or not.

i use shell when i can but they are scarce

I get shell for the fact that I always use it and never have problems.

why we are on the subject of gas. Since pump gas is R+M/2. Does anyone know what the actually motor octane is of 93 pump? Kind of like how 100 octane unleaded has a motor octane of 96. Since motor octane is the important thing

Shell was good to me until Sunday when the station I fill up at got a bad batch of 93. I added the gas between a datalogging sessions and noticed the change immediately. I had to empty my gas tank and filled up with Chevron 93. Power was back and knock was gone.
