I'm pretty sure that what I am unhappy with is the unit. The Autronic seems to not read outside temperature very well which causes it to run very rich during cold weather mornings and extra lean during warmer days. The idle control is another issue that I am having....we can set the idle for 1k rpm over and over and over again but the dang thing will idle between 1,500 and 2,000 rpm or it will idle below 1k rpm. It has a mind of it's own it seems. Me and another guy in this area are the only two non-tuners who run the system and we have experienced the same exact problems. Oh, and there is also a crazy hicup that occurs every now and then out of boost. AEM users in this area do not experience any of these problems, but I can say that with my mods and this unit together I have made some pretty good power (449 hp and 370 ish tq @ 21lbs. on 93 octane).

Are you sure you had everything setup/tuned correctly?

no he did not. autronic does not have influence on dodgy idle. you have to KNOW hoe to set it up. that is why TUNER is called a tuner, not a READER of internet forums. And the thing with wrong reading of temp is pure nonsense. You obviously didn't use autronic temp sensor, but original one which is in the airbox.

Don't blame the tools if you don't know how to use it

Umm, no I did not tune it myself considering I know nothing about tuning ECU's. The guy that tuned it owns his own shop here in the DFW area and has now for the past 15 years or so. He also goes all over the country just to tune cars that run Autronic. He built a car that won one of the ultimate street car comparison test done by Sport Compact a little over two or three years ago and his car was on the cover of D-Sport magazine four or five months ago, soooo I think he knows what he's doing. His car seems to run fine with this unit but mine doesn't simply put. It runs fine during warmer weather but the second the temp drops it runs pig rich and the idle has always been an issue. I've had this thing for two years now and the bugs still haven't been worked out after God only knows how many road tunes.

Your issue is not the Autronic, but the person pushing the buttons....

Why are you so stubborn? Why do you believe this guy (whoever that is) is a holly cow???

CHANGE the person, use Franz or somebody who know the issues. First of all, you need to know that evo 9 idle motor is ****ty thing..then you will know how to make it right

I'm in the process of trying to locate another Autronic tuner in my area. There are a couple of tuners who USE to tune this unit but have since moved on to the more famous stand alone ECU for whatever reasons. I know of a shop in Houston that may have an Autronics tuner but haven't been able to reach anyone by phone now in the past two days which isn't a good sign in my book.

Well there is Engine Logics in Tx.

EVO8

oh my god....this tuner of yours is really "great" if he can't do the 8 working properly.
9 has bad bad idle motor and this sometimes can give a headache to the tuner who doesn't know that (I was in that shoes ) but an 8?!?!?!

I just drove rom Chicago to Las Vegas just for fun, not wanting to just land in LV, but to experince USA a bit more, and I think you should do a proper drive to some good and experienced tuner, not to loose your time and money like this.

Yeah, I called Macellaro's Performance the day after reading your post (by the way, thanks for the info!). He was out of town at that time and to be honest I've since then completely forgot about calling him again. I'll do that first thing tomorrown afternoon.

I think Engine Logics is in Houston which is only a four hour drive from where I am. I was hoping to find someone more local but I am very willing to drive four hours for a good tune. I've done it before for a flash.
