Whats the difference in tunes?

Whats the difference in tunes?

Ok so the shop closet to me has many different choices in tunes and im new to this so i am not sure what the difference is.

The prices are deffinatly different but why should i get a Cobb tune when i can pay much less for an AEM tune? Can someone please explain this to me. Thanks!

For the AEM tune you will have to spend $1500 for the new EMS. The AEM tune also takes longer to tune because you start from scratch basically and tune the whole thing.

Since you have an appointment set with us for an Ecu reflash tune, I suppose there are more questions to be answered in this thread.

AEM is a standalone ECU replacement which averages out at $2200 tuned. It could be more depending on how long it takes and how much per hour ($150/hr) the dyno time is.

If you notice, the AEM tune is per hour and the Cobb tune is a flat rate.

People charge different rates for different tuning platforms. Some require special software or licenses to use and will therefore cost more. Some come with base maps and some are tuned from scratch. Some have nice GUIs to use that make tuning a little quicker/easier ... some don't.
