ECU locked need help
ECU locked need help
Hey guys I kinda need some help. I just came back from Street Tuned Motorsports in Rochester, NY for some installs and a road tune. Well when Em at STM tried to flash my ECU it wasnt reading it, he tried many times and called AMS for some help and still couldnt get my ECU to read any maps, he said my ECU was locked, if anyone could help me figure this out so I can finally get my car tuned it would be appreciated.
basically he couldnt get into my ecu, he went on the internet and dl the latest ecuflash and he still couldnt unlock my ecu. He said your ecu isnt reading anything and its locked and then he called AMS and went back into my car and looked under the dash and then reset my ecu and it still wouldnt accept any maps

not sure if this will work for you...but there have been a few cases where if the battery is low the ecu will not allow changes and will give you errors. Just a suggestion, go to your local autoparts and have your battery charged or go for a spirited drive then try again.
If that fails, you may need to go to the dealer.

the unlocker in my experience never lets me unlock the ecu... it only allows me to grab the immobilizer code and resets the init code to 0001 so the ecu is flashable again...
you will need a map to load your immobilizer on and start things rolling again

lol... well, that is BS... you can go to the dealer worst case and they will fix it, but im almost positive you can use the unlocker to at least get your code out and the init code will be fixed. Also try using an older version of ecuflash, like 1.29

open the program, then open ecuflash... do whatever you ahve to do in order to get it to show the menus on the left. None of the options will be available... but, if you scroll down, Mr. immobilizer shows up and the init code should be 0001. Thats how it usually works for me the few times ive had to unlock customer ecu's
well I guess I need a cable then lol I drove 3 hours to have some installs and a tune and left only with installs now I need to get a cable and look for a good email tuner I guess
