Boost control !?

i just bought a 2006 Evo. it has some mods. i dont know much about Evos, but have some knowledge about engines. my car has a boost controller. how do i know if the car has been tuned, and to what extent?? is there a way to find out if the ECU was F'ed with ??
i have stock factory boost gauge, but when i floor the gas, the needle shoots straight to the max 1.5 bar, so probably the boost is much higher. i guess i have to take it easy not to blow it. gotta put in an aftermarket boost gauge to know whats up??

The factory boost gauge can easily pass 1.5. Mine rides around the 1.7/1.8 area when I floor it ...

You can test to see where the stationary rev limiter is set and that might give you an idea if it was tuned. Go to a flat open area where the car won't roll ... push the clutch and put it in 1st. Then ease the throttle to the floor. The stock limiter is at 5000 and many tunes put it around 6000.

Best way is to get a tactrix cable (75.00) and ecuflash (free), download you're ecu map send it to one of us and we'll let you know. This is something you'll want if you plan on getting any future mods or just want to make sure you're car is tuned properly and to its maximum potential. PM me if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to look at you're maps.
