Throttle Hang, RPM Rise, Etc.

Hey All,

I know the elusive throttle rise has perplexed most of us and hopefully I have a solution for your problem. Just got my 8 a few months ago and the dreaded rpm rise started. No apparant reason, just started happening. Searched forums and I was told to solve it by putting a stronger spring on the TB or even install a helper spring. Didn't think that seemed right, so my experience is with motorcycles and I diagnosed things as if it were a problem w/ my bike. Top suspect on a bike would be the throttle cable sticking. Took out my cable luber, disconnected from the TB and lubed the hell out of it. Guess what? PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! No more hang, smooth RPM drop on shifts so I don't look like some noob that still has his foot on the gas when he shifts. Hopefully this is the problem for you as well. Let me know how it goes.

i would assume just squirting a bit of wd40 into the cable and holding it upside down would work fine
