Yes, some people do have problems with Vista though.

I was told that there is a different cable that works with vista. I used a cable that worked with XP and it did not work with my vista.

You were told incorrectly. There is only one cable. I did have a problem loading the software onto vista initially, but I got a computer savy friend of mine to help me figure it out.

it worked for me and both, of course I used it on a laptop that already came with vista.
