Difference between EVO Turbos

What is the difference between an EVO 8 Turbo with the 10.5 hotside and the EVO IX Turbo? How much power can each one made on a non Mivec (i.e EVO VIII with bolts ons) everything else being equal.?

C’mon someone has to know this. I believe both have the 10.5 hotside and the same turbine but if people are with EVO VIII are using the EVO IX turbo something has to be different. I believe there is something related to the oil lines is different.

The reason no-one has answered is cause there are hundreds of threads on this.

Evo9 Turbo housing is round 17% bigger than the evo 8. They are close to a 20whp bolt on but most of the new power is up top. I have also done the swap and am more than happy with it...........for now.

Evo IX turbo has same turbine and compressor wheels as 2005 Evo 8 but it has a larger compressor housing.

OK. If both have the same turbine and compressor why is there a 20whp difference? Are you talking about the difference when using the 9.8 housing? Or the bigger housing makes a more efficient air compression (i.e. less increase in intake temp)?
