Although I tune myself and have never used his services, I have never heard anything but 100% positive reviews from Mellon. He has been tuning various Mitsu's for quite some time now, and he seems to be very good at communicating what changes he is making throughout the process which is what you would want if someone else is messing with your baby.

What if i install cams and cam gears? Remember you have to play with the cam gears to get the right tuning. Does he tell you what to do and how? I never asked Chris about that when i tuned with him

usually I leave it up to the customer to determine the optimum cam gear settings and I simply dial the tune in around that...for the most part a good cam doesn't need cam gears in my opinion

Isn't Cam Gears an undesired item for street use because it may slip?

The only time I ever saw a cam gear slip was when a friends timing belt snapped causing piston/valve collision, which in that case made no difference if the cam gear slipped or not because he had to pull the head anyway.

But i heard that to get the most out of your evo8 you need to play with the cam gears and i don't know on what numbers - or + they have to be set up.

what Mellon is saying, is that a well designed cam shaft will be setup to run optimally on our cars "on the keyway"
