Evoscan logging issue with frozen fuel trims..

Well, I seem to have an issue with stuck fuel trims.

First time around the mid trim would move to 5.9 and freeze up. So, I did a battery reset by pulling the plug and this time around low, mid and high seems to get stuck at .1008. I have no idea why they won't move. I drove around for 30 miles at diff load and rpms trying to move it and they are totally stuck..

Car is an 04 Evo VIII GSR, Native ROM ID was 96420007, upgraded to ROM ID 94170015 tephra v5.10 and disabled immobilizer to make it work.

Only other setup changes - all emissions crap removed such as EGR, EVAP etc - disabled the CEL thru periphery2 tables based on Tephra's direction and searching threads here.

Using Evoscan 2.5, ECUFlash 1.38. I am trying to get logs for Mellon and thing is driving me nuts...

Thanks!

Do you have a CEL? Are you sure they are stuck? If the O2 feedback is close to 0 they might just be where they should be. I couldn't tell you w/o seeing logs.

No CEL....Well, the last time I sent a log to Mellon, he said they were stuck at 12.5 or so it seemed. I will try to post up a log here, can I attach it to the post?

change the file extension to .txt and you can post. Just mention that it needs to be changed back to .csv in the post.

Will do, will send it tonight...

I was told it could be:

1) bad narrowband and leak near 02 (I have brand new sensor - not factory, but from oxygensensor.com). No leaks near 02 either.

2) boost leak - could be this, I suppose. Last time I did this, I had all sorts of oil in my 02H/downpipe, but my FP Green was brand new. I have driven it now and seals etc may be seated...That one stumped me.

3) base idle is whackedy whack - need to try SAS Actuator Test and set BISS with Evoscan

Does the log you have include reading from the NB sensor? I've seen some of the aftermarket replacements read "0" for brief moments which could cause that trim issue. The O2 reading should constantly bounce around .5v within .25v or so on either side in closed loop. A flat response in closed loop at any value could mean a bad sensor. verify this before adjusting the BISS.

Here is the log from 1st to 5th gear of some normal driving...I assume what you are asking for is the last column, sir? Or perhaps, I didn't log that field, not 100% sure...

Please re-name to .CSV

I'd need to see logs while just cruising or idling. Actually, I was hoping to see the O2 Sensor voltage logged ... it should be labeled O2 sensor 1 or front.

The log you posted shows the O2 feedback trim functioning correctly. It drops to 0 when you're in boost at the normal crossover point. Only a steady cruise log will show issues with the O2.

EDIT :: Nevermind, it is logged ... still need to see cruise log.

Steady state cruise ... non accel. Follow the load values in that log ... when you cross in to boost (100%+ load) the O2 feedback flatlines. This is because you are operating in open loop. I need to see the car function in closed loop for a period of time, therefore a cruise in 4th or 5th without boost would be useful.

I do remember, Chris. Hate to be the PITA guy asking you about this. I sent you some logs tonight...that SOB mid-trim is all funky and never moves. The high sits at .1008 as well. I am not sure what is going on...

High trim will likely never move ... don't concern yourself with it.

Chris, I hope my explanation was what you wanted as well.

I was wondering about that, my high trim NEVER moves off of that 0.1008 or whatever. Whats the point of it if it never adjusts anything?
