hi i have a evo 7 2002 with acd, ayc , the car has been flashed but the evo 7 has no launch control so what i want to do know is get myself an evo 8 ecu so i can have launch control so here r my 2 quiestions :

:mhihi:if i use an ecu from an evo 8 2003 will this ecu manage my acd ayc lsd etc.. or do i need an ecu from anevo 8 that also has acd ayc ??


:mitsi: since my evo 7 has been flashed at 26 pounds , if i get the evo 8 ecu can i just transfer the flash from the evo 7 ecu to the evo 8 ecu or do i need to tune again my evo ..

You will need a retune. If you want features such as launch controll perhaps you should look at a MoTec or similar ECU.

 

I use to think that to till V5.10 came out I’m using it on my 7 + 2 other friends without any problems, you could copy your tuned tables to the new map with few adjustments

 

ok so this means i can use the same flash from the 7 and transfer it over to the evo 8 ecu right??

 

You don’t need to use an Evo8 Rom the 90550001 is Evo7 RA Rom

Just so you know, all 7 and 8 roms had the launch control (standing rev limiter) feature in code, however not every car had the second clutch switch wired to the ECU. Make sure your car is wired for it, though there's nothing wrong with upgrading to the tephra mods rom as other than a retune, it should work. Just save all your original rom images just in case it doesn't work or goes horribly wrong.
