Bought used evo/found it has a flash...?'s
Hey everyone. This is actually my first post since I just bought an 06 IX on Sat. It was supposed to be bone stock....
After buying it, I found that it has a flash done to the computer and has an aftermarket fuel pump. Now that I know this, it probably had a bunch more things done to it before I bought it.
Long story short, is there any way to see what flash it has or what company did it?
I'd like to know what it was tuned for (what parts, boost levels, etc). My boost gauge is on the way.
Thanks

Thanks. The car was bought originally in IL so I checked with AMS......no go.
I bought the car in Ohio. So I'm trying that route also.
This is going to be a pain unless I just send it off to be reflashed again.

Yah, since the previous owner likely sold any aftermarket parts that were easy to uninstall before selling it there is no real guarantee that the tune is correct or necessarily safe for the car. So I think you basically have 2 options:
1. Have the car retuned (preferably individual tune locally on a dyno). If you want/think you will want some aftermarket parts installed, you probably want to do that first so you can just get tuned once.
2. Log the car using EvoScan or similar, with AFR, boost and EGT gauges installed (Zeitronix makes a nice low-profile all-in-one unit) to make sure the tune is safe.
