How much knock is normal?

I flashed my ecu to let flash when I have knock, 1=slow flash 4=fast. Now I can't drive anywhere without the slow flash coming on, all the time. I'm just curious if this is normal, and I should change the counts back to normal (3&8 IIRC).

What could be causing so much knock?

I like 0-3, but even a stock car will get some random knock

what are your mods/boost/octane?

if you're stock, get it tuned.

Completely stock. I've heard they run rich and there might be a little power to be had(stock), but if I'm knocking now, I would think it would only get worse if I were to up the power with a tune though.

93 octane.

I would put them to 4 and 8 at least.

Ok, I put them to 3&8 and haven't had it flash since. So I guess the consensus is, a fair number of knock counts is ok as long as it's not a very high count?

A lot of 1 & 2 are not timing responsive and just seem to be noise.

Maximum average timing is achieved with knock sums <=3 I find.

sometimes these cars will knock when there's gross amounts of fuel and leaning it out to a proper level will actually reduce knock.
