Swapping ECU's

What needs to be done to replace a OEM ECU with another OEM ECU? Particularly in the IX.

you can only use an evo 9 ecu in an evo 9 but other than that it should plug in without a problem, just make sure you know the immobilizer code for each ecu

and how would you get the immobilzer code? would u need to communicate with the ecu to get it? or have to go the dealer?

well maybe you can give me your opinion on this. My ecu isn't communicating, the SES light doesn't even turn on in the dash and 4 different readers couldn't communicate with the ECU. She cranks but wont start. Did i somehow trip the immobilizer or is my ECU fried?

Had that problem last night as i was reflashing my ecu back to stock...it's the immobilizer code...If you just change the Ecu you have to get ur Imm Code from the old ecu and put it on the new one...flash the car and you should be good...
