TurboXS or OpenSource?

Hey guys, bought my 05 Evo 8 with a turboxs utec and am just curious what you think I should do.

Mods are:

2.3L stroker
Upgraded head
FP RED
Tubular Manifold and custom 02 housing
Straight thru exhaust
Precision 780cc injectors
ETS 3" I/C
Tomei DV
High Pressure WG

I was thinking about going to a Haltech PRS1000 but dont have the money and the car needs to get tuned with all the new mods. Is the TurboXS UTEC a bad choice? I know many people dont use it on here, just curious why?

This is a track only car also, I'm looking for a more agressive tune.. Anti-Lag would be awesome, haha

The utec is a piggyback with limited capabilities. It's not used too much because openecu/ecuflash is free and gives you better control.
Since it's a track car only, don't cut corners, wait for the money to do the stand alone and have fun with your antilag.

I really dont plan on running anti-lag.. I cant afford new turbo's.. Just poking fun at all the threads about it lately.

what i was asking really was is it worth it for me to keep the TurboXS UTEC and tune with that since its what came on the car or go back to stock?

I will buy the Haltech in the future. I'm just curious about what to do right now since the car needs a tune.. badly

It's really your call.
If the car needs a tune "badly" use what you got. The utec is capable then and is better then nothing.
Do you have a flashing cable? Do you have the logging software? Do you want to go through the removal of the utec?

I dont mind removing the thing. I have the entire dash pulled anyway getting a 6pt cage.

All I know is that the car came with a UTEC. Never got a cable or software or anything.

I'm not a tuner, never tuned but I'm taking it to a shop that says they know what they are doing.

So the OE ECU is good for tuning and so is the TurboXS? I've heard good and bad about both
