Question Fuel Octane V.S Tune

hey guys, im planning to buy a highly modified Evo 9 but im not sure if i will need to reprogram the ECU or not. Its currently tuned on 98 Octane fuel but since im importing the car and the local fuel is only 95 Octane im not sure what the results will be.

Can i drive the car or is it unsafe to use it? Should i lower the boost? or should i just have the car reprogrammed on 95 Octane fuel? please feel free to add any other tips or recommendations.

Appreciate the help.

3 points of octane is a big deal and depending how "on the edge" the tune is on how bad the damage is going to be. If you drive the car without seeing any boost you will be fine but i am sure thats not why you bought it. Have it retuned on the correct octane for your area as well as it wouldnt hurt to tune it in your atmospheric conditions anyway.
