I would still like to know more about using fuel temp instead of an IAT sensor...

Its already in the car and its just a setting in the actual SD coding. You choose it instead of the IAT.

JB, I understand I can use the fuel temp option in v7 for SD. Do I still need to install an IAT in the UICP?

or am I going about this all wrong?

I was under the impression it was install IAT and wire it into the fuel temp pin on the ECU, and then select that option on v7.

Your explanation seems like you do not run an IAT or wire it into the fuel temp pin.

You either use IAT or fuel temp.... not both

If you use an actual IAT sensor I'd grab the stock one off the MAF harness. The fuel temp sensor is in tank ready to go, why grab another one?

Within 18" of the TB. This is realistically a smaller turbo issue since the stock turbo is analogous to a hair dryer at idle. Intake temp of 42* was around 90* post turbo at idle. Now imagine if it was hot out what it was doing, especially with a bad intake design grabbing air from behind the fan.

The barometric correction is also something thats almost never used in standalones.

I guess if you wanted to get technical its Alpha N with Boost Comp, but even then its more accurate than just Alpha N.
Huh. In the summer anything past a few minutes of driving means pegged 190F IATs on the UICP when I log. I may try re-connecting the fuel temp sensor and see if it works any better. Thanks for the tip!
