Busted Finger (Tactrix 1.3 cable clone) question

Anyone tried the cable from Busted Finger Motorsports cable on a EVO8? I cant seem to find a Tactrix 1.3 anywhere.

Tactrix 1.3 cables are no longer sold from tactrix but you can buy cables from EVOSCAN website. http://evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-obdii-cables

1.3R and 1.3U cables

I wondered how long it would be before other 1.3-based cables started appearing; I'm curious what they did about the serial number.

Note that they're marketing this specifically for Subarus, which don't need our flash connector. The "flash block" that they're referring to in the description is a small standalone plug (2001-2002 and 2003-2005) that enables flashing on their ECUs. For us, sending power to the ECU's flash pin requires special timing, and so is triggered off a pin on the FTDI chip inside the housing itself (the small white connector that connects back to the main cable).

So I suspect you'll probably be able to log with that cable, but flashing anything Mitsubishi isn't going to happen. Rather funny too; with a very small amount of effort (prior to doing a production run of them) and maybe $0.50 in additional parts, they could have made it work.

So this cable won't work with ECUFlash? He claims its fully functional and tested and he seems to have a pretty good rep.

Subaru owners should be able to use EcuFlash with it, but unless there's more to that cable than pictured, it won't flash an Evo.

Note the missing flashing connection (the white plug, wired back to the main OBD-II housing):

I confirm that, with this cable your can log data with evoscan but I'm not able to read and flash the ecu.

It is just good for the subaru.
