tuned ecu back to stock
tuned ecu back to stock
So this is my story...bought an 03 evo 8..built head making roughly 500hp...next thing you know I have a Rod knock and I had to by myself a while new motor..and right now the new motor is in..88k miles bone stock..I have the gt3076 turbo, full intercooler system buscher, exhaust, dnp manifold, tial Wastegate, pretty much all bolt on mods...and 1200cc injectors...and this is what is happening...I start the car but it won't start unless I give it gas..and in order got the engine to run I have to keep my foot on the gas otherwise it'll die...I know that it might be that the injectors are too big too can anyone verify?
Also is it ok for me to use the same ecu I have now rather than get a new stock one or an EMS? Because I would to get the car tuned once I can get it to idle right..or is my problem just in the tune itself? Ooo

Yes i'm running those on..i'm just having starting issues now..won't idle right away..I have to give it gas for a good 2-3 mins then it'll idle by itself..but I an trying to get a base tune soon..is it safe to drive the car still? After it idles it drives fine..I haven't gone past 4k RPMs yet but the car feels fine when its breathing..any ideas? But starting the car is the main issue now
the tune might be for different cams? if its tuned for diff cam duration, or the idle air control valve might be bad on the new motor? you can try to clean out the IAC on the intake manifold and see if that does the trick. someone will chime in im sure
1. Are you running closed loop? If so, check your low and mid long-term fuel trims and tell us what you find. They should both be witihin the range of -5% to +5%. If you have changed injectors your scaling, injector latencies and Start IPW latency will need to be set correctly, followed by a full re-tune.
2. Pull your IACV from the throttle body. Plug it in to the harness and check its operation by turning the ignition on and off. You should feel the stepper motor vibrate and see the plunger move in and out.
