O2 sensor spacer for tuning

Wassup EvoM, quick question on probably an obvious answer. If I had a test pipe with an O2 spacer so the ecu wont throw a CEL. Would I have to take it out and set it to the normal seated position prior to getting it tuned? would it really matter for tuning or would the tuner see differently because it's spaced back?

Also, before I even get it tuned I was wondering wouldn't the O2 sensor being spaced back in the first place make the car run more rich?

The theory behind it is because too much exhaust is hitting the sensor since there no CC. So you put the sensor in so that less exhaust gas hits it.

Wouldn't under reasonable circumstances you would have too less exhaust gas hitting the O2 sensor so the ECU thinks its running lean so it'll make the car run more rich when a stock evo runs rich from the factory anyways ?

Any input would be helpful Thanks!

The rear o2 sensor monitors the cat. All short and mid term fuel trim calculations are done with the front o2. I have heard tho that the rear plays into long term fuel trims tho. Might want to pull the spacer out for the tune then throw it back in afterward, although I was tuned with the spacer still in and it didn't affect anything.

Thanks for the input. Also could I leave the spacer off once I go for a tune and have them just disable the fault for the test pipe ?

You should download EcuFlash and buy a cable and learn to do some things yourself. It's a lot of fun! PLENTY of good information on the forum.

Tactrix. I'd find a 1.3.

Do you have an AFR Gauge? If you do you will have to cut the rear o2 connection to your harness and replace it with the wideband.

I don't have a rear sensor or CAT now and did just that by disabling it with ECUFLASH. Easily done.

or just mount the widband in it's own bung so you don't have to cut your harness.

You have to use its own bung. It's wideband O2. It would never be accurate that far back in the stick location. And if u don't do direct logging you will have to cut the harness.
