Smog monitors on tuned evo 9

I'm trying to pass smog in CA and my O2 sensor monitor shows "not ready" on my code reader even though my tune shows it to be ready and pass. Changed out sensor to a known good used sensor and driven about 50 miles and still the same. Any advice? I'm about to put in a brand new sensor to see if it changes. Car is running on e85 with built 2.4l and supporting mods.

Is this on stock ECU? Is your EGR system still intact?

Yes stock ecu. I don't know about the egr but that monitor is ready. I'll take a look for the egr when I get the chance

I'm 90% sure the egr was deleted. Will switching to my 91 tune make a difference?

I don't know of any stock ECU tuner that could "PASS" the entire smog test without EGR system in place.

You dont need the EGR system to pass smog. Its possible to force pass your smog monitors in your tune.

"force" is the key word here. Yes it's possible at more laxed testing stations, but not at a properly monitored site.

I was wrong earlier. it wasn't forced passed and it was reading o2 sensor not ready. Now their forced pass and it says o2 sensor mon "n/a"....and the rom is a tephra v5 tune, does that make a difference?

You need a tactrix cable and ecuflash. You need to set the monitors in ecuflash to "ready" and flash that to your ecu. Then they should all read ready.

I already got the tuner to do that. It shows "not supported" now for the o2(forced pass). I have one coming in the mail tomorrow so I'll see if I can mess with it more.
