should I get it?

guess I should ask the question before I think to deeply of getting a UTEC for my car.

Is the UTEC to special a piece to use for my limited mods and needs?
The features I am looking at are the valet mode, (so I could let my son drive the car at reduced power) perhaps an economy mode for driving down the hiway and a performance tune for road racing (track).

I don't plan any more mods to the car, only a turboback exhaust.

perhaps the UTEC is way beyond my needs?

thanks
Bruce

I think the big benefit to getting the UTEC is the fact that the car can be changed at any point and the UTEC can be adapted to those changes. If you purchase a straight flash type of upgrade then you will be forced to get the product re-flashed at a later time. There are also several other key features that are available just from the stock UTEC including Flat foot shifting and launch control which will make your track days more enjoyable. I just got mine and I have to say that the UTEC offers, by far, the most bang for the buck and an excellent support team that really works hard to keep you happy. And one thing you dont want to worry about when you are plugging in a new ECU is "Will someone be available to help me out?" With the TurboXS guys the answer is a resounding yes!

Bruce,
I'd love to sell you a UTEC, but high pressure is not my style. If you are interested in learning more about the system I'd highly recommend you contact the guys at http://www.pdxtuning.com/ they are reasonably close to you and can offer their tuning services and insight on the EVO engine management market. It's also highly likely that you could catch a ride in a PDX tuned EVO that is equipped with the UTEC.

If you were local I’d suggest you come on down and take a drive or play around with one of our computers. As it is, the drive would be rather long, so I refer you to the guys at PDX.

If you come to PDX I can give you that ride and show you the features. I can also introduce you to the great guys at PDXTuning and Matrix Engineering. All of these guys are very professional and provide great service and support! Feel free to PM me with any questions.
