Hey guys, my question is what are the differences between evoscan and other softwares we are able to use with our stock ecu's. I would like to get my evo 8 tuned I just don't know which one to go with. I have searched this forum for answers but all of the post I have found are outdated and Ik these softwares have gotten better over time with better capabilities could Someone shed some light for me?

I am still a huge fan of how ecmlink v3 full works and the functions it has. I'm just trying to get a grasp of what I can use with the evo since I'm clueless I read there are different types of cables that do different things I'm pretty confused. Can someone do a comparison of what each does? Suck as evoscan etc.

I suggest you start with Merlin's guide:Originally Posted by Boosting88
Key words that I keep finding are tactrix, evoscan, OpenPort, ecuflash, tephra.

Tactrix designed all versions of the Openport hardware, makes the Openport 2.0 hardware and free EcuFlash software used for Evo 5 through X. EcuFlash allows you to read/edit/write your ECU ROM image and supports standalone logging directly to an SD memory card in the Openport 2.0. EvoScan is a live logging program, and I think supports reflashing for some older Evo models, including yours I believe. Tephra is someone who makes modified ROM patches to add special features to ECUs that didn't originally have them.Originally Posted by Boosting88
