Hi guys first post here, I’ll try my best to keep them to a minimum.

I have a JDM Evo 5 and have developed a unique hard cranking issue.

Its relatively stock, it does have a E7 engine in it, E9 turbo, 255 fuel pump, stock injectors, I’m currently running the latest Ceddy Mod rom on the ecu, nothing really out of this world.

I will go to start the car and when it starts to crank the starter will work excessively hard, like it’s fighting the engine to start it. Then sometimes it will crank over just like it should and start up just fine.

I can’t seem to make heads or tails while the MAF sees such a high load number in one but not in the other. I NEED HELP FROM THE EXPERTS ON THIS ONE.
