Question Stand Alone?

Tring to decide XEDE or Utec... Quick question. I know the XEDE is a piggy back, is the utec a stand alone or a piggy back? Thanks

UTEC is better than a piggy back and better than a standlone.

The UTEC lets the stock ecu handle all the things like cold start, warm start, AC and idle. It then takes over to control fuel, timing and boost when needed.

The UTEC directly controls the injectors and timing so you always get 100% repeatable power. Other piggy back systems rely on fooling the ecu which can lead to unpredicatable results.

The issue with a standlone is that you have to tune it to understand cold start, warm start, idle and things like that before you can use your car in a daily drive fashion.

I like the UTEC, it's the best of both worlds

OK so that I understand then, the Utec is a piggy back the plugs into the ecu. Right?

Yes, that means the regular "Boring" things that the stock ECU controlls is left alone.. But the good stuff is tunable.. THe best of both worlds..
