Hey guys. Looking for some advice. I'm ready to add a few more horsepower to the car, preferably some low end torque if possible. I currently have a complete exhaust system (DP,Cat, exhaust), BOV, and utec running a slightly modified stage 1 map. I was thinking about a fuel pump and mbc. My tuner recommended the boost control. He didn't like the abc that comes with the utec. Also thinking about cams. Any suggestions?

I would say forget the MBC. WIth the turboxs abc you will be able to run just as much boost just as consistantly as you would with a mbc and you have the added benefit of storeing five maps all with different boost levels for varyious weather conditions...

I think the next release of the utec software and the map conversion kit will allow for boost pressure based tuning.

If you want to add more power, go get a good dyno tune if you have not already, that can get you probably 20 to the wheels over what you are making now.

Can't comment on cams or cam gears since I have not done them yet.

As far as the fuel pump goes.... run some logs and see what duty cycle you are running I never really get over 80% so i have no need for a pump upgrade right now. Also, I think you have to retune due to added fuel flow under all conditions, at least that is what I have been told.

Interesting points. I have had a dyno tune ...Mustang AWD dyno. Approx. 250 whp (220 stock). Fairly conservative map. Even more conservative than the stage 1 map. The guy doing my tuning noted some problems holding consistent boost levels and suggested a mbc next time around (along with fuel pump). Has anyone else seen any problems holding consistent boost levels?

Nope.. rock solid boost control here.. I also added the MAP sensor and plan on using the ABC and MAP sensor in closed loop control.. you can easily maintain 20-21psi with the stock boost solenoid with no modifications if you have an aftermarket exhaust..
