Map sensor, and load reference

Can anyone provide any insight on using the External MAP sensor for load reference instead of MAF frequency? Does it work, is it desirable? I see you can enable it, but I haven't attempted to use it until I can get a better idea on how it works.

What? Would this be the way to eliminate the MAF and run speed density? I would love to do that. It would bring the UTEC closer to Stand Alone territory. Asit sits, the UTEC is temporary, but that option could make it permanent.

You would need more than just the MAP sensor to run speed density.. I don't know that it would simulate the output..

I was more curious about it due to the fact I get inconsistent input readings currently with my Maf sensor.. (I have a new blowthrough MAF sensor but its not installed yet)

This is not a speed density conversion, but used to provide load reference instead of using MAF frequency I suppose..

But, I have heard that there will be a speed density conversion at some point in the future.. but there is no ETA on it... fully functional speed density needs to calculate air density from throttle position, Manifold pressure (MAP) and intake air temp (IAT) in order to be functional enough to run well in most circumstances.

I was hoping someone could explain what this specific feature was on the UTEC since I found it recently when tuning and noticed it wasn't all that well documented (I don't think it actually is documented at all)
