UTEC seems to work!
UTEC seems to work!
Went to the track on Friday night and made a base run...(man these cars are weird to launch!) The first run on TXS MAP was 14.2 @ 106 MPH...yea 1.56 reaction and 2.576 60 ft. Anyway, the trap shows potential for the HP readings. I had a few knock detections and with a few tweaks, I pulled a 13.5 with the same crappy reaction and 60 ft times! Finally, after analizing the situation, I got an easy mid 12 with decent reaction and 60 ft times! This is the Stage 2 and 272 cams combo. I spanked the hell out of a '03 supercharged Cobra. What a feeling! Now the confidence is building!

Does that mean you're not selling it anymore?

I guess when you give it a chance (and Jack too) things do work

My best time was a 13.5 at 102 when I bogged the launch and missed third gear. I ran a 14.4 with a 106 and really srewed the launch and again missed third. Chris and I would appreciate any tips on launching with the stock clutch. Neither of us could get even close to a 2.0 60 ft.
Rev to 4000 and then slip until it starts to grip and then fully release (it has to be a fast slip or else you really burn your clutch).
From my experience, everything below 4k is bogging the car.
Some people dump their clutch from 5500 and even more but I would avoid that.

Chris! Partying again? Hey buddy, Robert and I are going next month for sure, so you need to bring out the RS and show us what you got!
Two bottles, huh? Don't make me feel bad. Let's see if we can get together soon. I'm so sorry about dinner...We'll make it up to you and the Mrs.

Negative, sir. She's now going to a new owner. Guess I can't hang out here anymore. I suppose I will be hanging in Shiv's corner. It just so happens that I have a direct plug in there. Believe me when I tell you...it's nothing against the UTEC. Once I got used to it and understood the functionality, it can build real HP. It would be best suited for weekend racing, in my opinion. You know, tune Thursday, Friday, Saturday qualifying, and running on Sunday. It can be a very powerful tool and exteremly overpowering in the wrong hands. My choice has been preference which is like navels, everybody has one.

LOL haven't heard the navel comparison in years.. LOL
I understand your situation.. and the reason for your choice, so best of luck with the change.. Tuning is tuning, no matter what setup you choose your ultimate gains will be similar.. Its just a learning experience.
