Ok my Utec should be in any day now. I bought the remote map switch as well. Where do you mount this. All the pics is see about the switch show it fit inside one of the blanks in the subaru dash, We don't have any blanks on our cars so where are you mounting them. I am thinking about mounting it inside the ash try but I am not sure. Where/how did you mount yours?

I am wondering the same as I just installed my utec over the weekend and mine is laying in the glovebox....not the best place I know.

I like the ashtray idea.

 

I routed the utec to go through the center console. Both the serial cable and remote swith routed fine and you can hide it infront of the shifter ontop of the SRS computer. this is easly recovered though the ash tray when taken out. Simple, temprary un till you find a better place, and clean.

 

Yea mine is stuffed nicely inside the glovebox, I have no need to change maps yet. But I like the ashtray idea.

 

I mounted the switch in the console, cut a small hole same size as the "knockout" shape on the blank.. Fitted it under the forward portion of where the emergency brake comes down so its partially hidden from view..

 

I am thinking about making a fiberglass insert for the ash tray so I don't have to cut anything. Or maybe I can create a holder for it and the tuner lite when it comes out. Inside the center console. Hmmmm all these ideas are flowing into my head
