Newbie:Help w/ AFC II. Installation with harness!!

How are you people? im new to the forums and just got my AFC II w/ harness. I'd like to know how to install it, i know the ECU is behind the glove compartment but i want to know how to connect the harness to the Ecu and to the AFC II; and any settings for stock evos. I know every car is different but at least any settings that might be helpful for "most" stock evos to lean the car'sop end. I know this had probably been posted before but im new at least please post me the links if you are too lazy to type it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. But are those settings safe for a stock evo. What should the fuel ratio be on this settings. Now how can i hook it up using the harness not the wiring process.

Yes, get the field harness from Buschur or AMS. Where did you buy the SAFC2? Personally, I read alot, and bought from AMS, not for best price, but because they know their stuff, and they help me with the settings. IMHO, you really need an Wideband 02, before you can 'effectively and safely' use an SAFC2. I ran with out one for a while, and after getting the 02, I have added another 10-15 hp because I can tune for the condition, rather than one 'global' setting. Granted, I track, and I like the a/f to 11.8-12.0 while tracking at 19psi.

Where I you, I would order a MBC, if you haven't, and worry about the SAFC2 later. 60 bucks, and you don't have to worry about tuning, or popping the engine. And you can add up to 21hp up top, 'your results may vary'.

Check the other thread, but realize the better the air, the leaner you will be, depending on what you may see. Check the thread above, it has alot of settings. I think there is one in the Vivid forum too.

If you like working upside down , you can attach the harness to the ECU and then splice in the AFC. Most people would splice it into the harness before installing the harness. The harness itself does not just plug into the AFC, you have to splice into it the same way you would splice into the ECU wires. It's just that with the harness you don't have to cut the ECU wires (you cut the harness wires) and you can easily remove the AFC later if you'd like.

Take your time and definitely solder the wires. Don't just wrap them and use electrical tape like I did the first time, lol.

Also, make sure you have the orientation correct. It's fairly easy to wire it upside down and or backwards or both. Don't ask me how I know... If you hook it up and one of the readings is wrong (rpm, karman, knock, etc. are reading 0 or not moving), you probably have the wires wrong. Take it out and try again. It's not that hard, even I figured it out.

Good luck,
