Turbones Jan 23, 2010 05:51 PM

im interested in the red or grey . were the stored inside or outside. I would like to know what kind of miles are on them? I'm wondering if they are still on the mso ?

05rrated Jan 23, 2010 10:34 PM

not to be a buster but as soon as that car leaves the lot its not even close to worth that much. they book for 28,100 with 50 miles on it so if you have more then that it gets worse. people beware you loose 8k as soon as she comes off the lot. sorry

Boostfiend Jan 24, 2010 07:50 AM

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, that and a car that has sat for four years? Does it have fluid in it? because that's really not good.

Then I guess I will have to drive/keep it on the lot, to retain the value of the car. Only problem is how to mod the car without the dealer knowing.

Just sitting in storage for 4 years with fluid in them is not bad at all since it was all new fluid and not old used stuff. I'd definitely have the dealership change the engine oil, drivetrain oils, and brake fluid before taking delivery though.

Whats you point??? car is not an investment! its the point behind it to get a brand new car for a fair price.

Why every forum has lowballerz ALL the time. No matter what the circumstances are you people always ***** about something.

At the end you pay for what you get!

Dre1189 Jan 25, 2010 02:01 PM

i just bought an 9 mr with se package with 13k miles for 22 so i dont think i would ever pay over 10k more just for 13k miles less?

Turbones Jan 25, 2010 08:25 PM

I would possibly be interested but i just cant see paying more than a new X SSS w/navi. I just dont think i could pay sticker for a 4 going on 5 yr old car. ?

I would say this is a blessing and a curse at the same time.

From personal experience once you have kept a car like that for X amount of years in brand new condition it takes the fun out of it.

Exhibit A) My IX MR. I had a decent amount of fun with it and I loved the car. But after 2 years I put just 6k miles on it. While I enjoyed the car VERY much, I didn't want to chance anything ever happening to it since I kept it in better than new condition. So it spent a lot of it's time under a car cover or in a garage until I sold it.

Exhibit B) My brother's IX MR. After 3 years it had only 8k miles on it. And it was completely bone stock (except for a JDM rear and tint). And like my Evo I took care of that Evo. It looked better than the day it rolled off the showroom floor. But it got to the point where there were almost no Evos left in the country in that condition and unmodified. So he had to keep the car alive and again like my Evo...it sat in the garage or under a car cover. He sold it earlier this year for $30k.

Anyway while I would love to have a brand new IX, I don't think it's worth the price. Not that the car isn't worth it (it totally is), but it's not worth paying to know that you have a gem. If you bust this car up you could be taking a chance of messing up history because who knows just how many IX's are left out there in that condition. That's just my thoughts. For all I know some guy will buy any of these and beat the royal crap out of it because it's just a car.

No thanks. I'd rather buy something used with lower mileage so I don't have to feel like I'm damaging the respect the Evo has earned. Yeah they are meant to be driven hard. But I wouldn't want to rob the future of seeing at least one in pristine condition!

think the point is very clear, why get raped for a car that is not worth it? unless you have more money then brains. its not about lowballin, its about not getting ripped off on a car thats already 4 years old and trying to get NEW money for it.i could like of a better way to spend 36k on and evo 9. or 36k on a evo x.{thumbup}:banghead:

EvoLutionized8 Jan 25, 2010 10:45 PM

very interesting.. rare find indeed.. like ridiculously rare. Whoever gets them should have a good story. My only concern would be that even though they are brand new, they have already depreciated in value, if you wanted to turn around and sell them in two years, with little to no miles, you would lose over $10-12K at least. Maybe the market will change and see the CT9A as a last edition collectors car. Doubt it, but hope so.. GLWS,

Malik_EvoIX Jan 26, 2010 11:20 AM

bump

MJ23FE Jan 26, 2010 11:36 AM

I agree with all that's said in this thread, but at the same time wouldn't buy the car to sell it. I would buy the car to keep it. Knowing that in January 2010, I have a BRAND NEW Evo IX MR is priceless. You could start over and mod it the way you truly wish you had, and with that 100,000 mile warranty starting TODAY, you wouldn't have to worry much.

-Jalal

FI>NA Jan 26, 2010 03:00 PM

If u are not interested in purchasing it. Why run your mouth? If someone wants to pay that much for it, that is their business. I would like to see one of these **** talkers find another BRAND NEW EVO IX for less...

Or is it 10 years from back in 2006 when they came out?

Good luck SamSmAsH

for real? piece of mind? you just lost at least 8k on a deal, you wreck the car on the way home, now you have a insurance check for 28k and you owe 36+k sleep with that. lol still way better off getting a new X mr for the same or close to that price and at least have a chance to beat the depresiation (sp). granted sam maybe a great guy and he is a great hook up, but that is NO deal on those cars!

You're missing the point. That scenario you described applies to any car you buy, though of course in this case, your ACV (actual cash value) would be lower because of the inevitable depreciation, even in the case of a new and unused vehicle of an older model year. No one is denying that, but the reality is that there is a market for a few pristine examples like these, especially considering the shift in direction that Mitsubishi took with the Evo X. I don't doubt that they will find buyers without much hassle.

A lot of people are in the market for pre-owned Evo VIIIs and IXs, preferrably with low mileage and being as close to bone stock as possible, which goes without saying. These Evos in storage present an alternative for those who specifically want a CT9A and don't want to have to cross their fingers that the miles on the clock didn't consist of constant abuse, whether in the form of poor driving habits, extensive track use or less-than-ideal mods. And for these people, they can get the full 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranties, which are no longer offered in those specific lengths. And speaking of warranties, there are Evo owners out there who, in hindsight, wish that they had held back on modding due to denied warranty claims, considering the reputation of car companies with vehicles popular in the tuner market. So now they can start with a clean slate and, knowing what they know now, stay bone stock (or mod very conservatively) and preserve the full warranty.

Malik_EvoIX Jan 28, 2010 01:03 PM

Pics?!!!

DeeezNuuuts83 Jan 28, 2010 01:16 PM

^ But realistically, they look like any other new Evo IX MR would... haha :p

scarface2jz Jan 28, 2010 01:28 PM

Wow.... Whoever gets these is lucky

DeeezNuuuts83 Jan 28, 2010 01:32 PM

Why? It's not some ultra-rare car that was always sold out. They're no luckier than I was when I bought mine new, or the other several thousand people who bought new Evos.

GaBe511 Jan 28, 2010 02:29 PM

What im wondering is how the warranty would work? Its from when the car is made, not bought so it might not even still exhist on a brand new car. But i could be wrong, i dont know.

DeeezNuuuts83 Jan 28, 2010 02:31 PM

WORST case scenario, you've got six years left on the powertrain warranty... which is still better than what the current Evos come with :p

MRWong Jan 28, 2010 03:41 PM

Maybe They should hold on to them for another 10 or 15 years ... then with inflation, cost of living increases and the extinction of the 9s. 36k would be worth it. I am not sure of the production #s in comparison but i think people would buy a type-R for sticker price today.... enthusaists are out there.

bull762 Jan 28, 2010 03:56 PM

You need to get a black one.

I don't see the value going up higher, especially since these aren't exactly rare variants. (If there were an Evo equivalent of the S202/S203/etc. models of the STI, that would be a different story.) You can't really compare its potential resale value to the Type-R, which was MUCH rarer and more of a special model... though I am surprised at the asking prices for some of them.

2001 Acura Integra Type-R - $23,900 - 10,342 miles
2000 Acura Integra Type-R - $22,500 - 72,000 miles (obviously asking for too much)
2001 Acura Integra Type-R - $17,990 - 29,950 miles

MRWong Jan 28, 2010 06:42 PM

Maybe fqs then

How many Type-R's were made? It's not exactly like there were as many Evos as Civics or whatever.

DeeezNuuuts83 Jan 28, 2010 06:46 PM

^ Of course, but again let's not kid ourselves into thinking that the Evo was a limited run of cars.

Noize Jan 28, 2010 06:49 PM

Sam,

Check PM

cotmfk Jan 28, 2010 06:49 PM

Maybe not so limited as the Evo 8 MR (1000 built supposedly), but it was only available for one (really two) model years. There are tons of Evos in California and in the east coast. Pretty much everywhere in between they are rare cars, unlike mustang, camaro, 350z, etc. etc.

DeeezNuuuts83 Jan 28, 2010 06:51 PM

I don't remember the exact numbers, but there were several thousand MRs produced for the 2006 model year... for some reason I remember there having been more MRs produced than standard IXs. I'll try to dig up the numbers just to be sure.

MRWong Jan 28, 2010 06:51 PM

No they are not limited. Neither are skylines, supras or rx7s. but i get ur point.
sidenote: i think the mod sees we are going on a tangent with this thread.

zach34 Jan 30, 2010 04:38 PM

I wonder how much I could get for my X with 2400 miles. I got tired of trying to find a decent CT9A in the midwest, if I saw this back in August when I got my X I would've jumped all over it.

But seriously pm me the trade in value of a X GSR, no options, 2400 miles

zach34 Jan 30, 2010 04:40 PM

edit: double post

Turbones Jan 31, 2010 06:21 PM

the warranty starts when the vehicle is purchased not produced.... they will have the 10 yr 100k mile powertrain and 3 yr 36000 bumper to bumper.

SOCALMITSU.COM Feb 1, 2010 03:51 PM

Noize Feb 1, 2010 03:59 PM

cotmfk Feb 1, 2010 04:32 PM

I was wondering if they were sold, since there seemed to be a lack of response as far as mileage, pictures, etc. So, I posted the thing that would confirm it as fast as possible. And it did. Instead of waiting days like we have for pictures, mileage, etc, I got the response in hours.

You could've just asked... Sam obviously monitors his own threads. That was very unnecessary.

SOCALMITSU.COM Feb 4, 2010 04:18 PM

I hope that you do not take any offense to this comment I am about to make.

They look like stock evo 9 mr are pics really necessary??

They are brand new, still have those plastic hub caps on them when they come from the port.

They are stored away and I do not have access to them at this time. We made plans to bring them into the show room. Soon as they are here I will take pics, post miles etc etc. I have many people interested in these and I am sure that they will sell soon as they arrive.

Honestly I do not get the whole picture thing, most of you guys own the same exact car.

sblvro Feb 4, 2010 05:22 PM

pls pm VIN numbers when you get a chance. thanks!
