turbo/superchage and miles

How many miles do you think is too many miles for a lancer to handle a supercharger / turbo without running into problems? How many miles do you think are too many miles to even think about putting one in? Is it even worth it? Just some opinions....

I'd say that a supercharger would be pretty safe almost anytime. The real question is how much boost and how hard you are going to run it. I say when in doubt at all...supercharge...and with some of the intercooled superchargers these days you can get just about the same gains...check out the Ripp mods SDS and the Procharger universal kit.

the supercharger system is realiabe.. and the methanol cooling system is really good. The rrm turbo is reliable also(if u don't over boost) i haven't herd of any realy big problems with the rrm turbo. just besure not to over boost. i have the RIPP sds and its done the job.. its reliable

NA motor in the lancer will see hardly any wear even at 70k+ miles... i know as i've torn down blocks with that much to do piston swaps. I just rehoned and dropped in then new pistons. From what i've seen with this motor it would be safe to boost it at anytime. I recommend that you keep the boost as stock kit levels though and don't play with boost controllers or any other means to raise boost. That is when people run into issues. Just be happy with what you got and if you ever feel its not fast enough take the kit off and drive NA for a while... that will remind you of how much more power you've gained.

ha taking apart a FI system than puttin back on to remember how much power u gain doesn't cover someones need for more power.. if a person wants more power than internal work to boost some more or time to move on to a bigger badder engine like the supra tt or 300zx tt...mmmm

So I guess as long as you keep up on the engine maintenance you could have the lancer with the supercharger/turbo as long as your willing to put the money in it when the time is needed. Do they sell 4g94 engines somewhere if you wanted one?
